Sbusiso Background

Sbusiso "King Dollar" was born in Springs Alra Park, South Africa. He started school at Durban Melmort at Vukuzenzele Primary School. His mother passed on in 2007 which led to him being moved from Durban to Balfour. He stayed there 2007 until 2009.

In 2009, Dollar moved from Balfour to Springs (Tsakane Ext. 15) due to family problems. He then started his music career.

Music Career

Sbu aka King Dollar started his music career at the age of 12 (2006) when he visited the hip hop battling stages in Duduza. A place called eMbawuleni. “This is where I fell in love with music” – Said King Dollar.

He then started writing music inspired by Teargas. In 2009 Dollar started recording Demos alongside Skeleton. In 2010, King Dollar released his first album called “Isgub’ sasekasi” featuring DJ Montoya, Dr Bhungela and TJW. Which never really sold that much because of the lack of marketing.

In 2011 he was still busy trying to market himself as an independent artist. He then established a company called One Fam Music with Mr. Mkhize as the manager of the newly established company.

In 2012, he released his second album under the newly established company called : The Journey To Life” which was only played on a few community radio stations.

2014 he released his 3^rd album titled Longer than a long walk alongside DJ Ten Ten and TJW. Which got popularized by the single Track 3 - “Tell Me”. The song got popular to such an extent that in the very same year a video was shot. The video was shot Kombu Music which was inspired by the track. It was played on Channel O, Soweto TV and many other community radio stations.

2015 – An independent album was released by King Dollar titled Kant’ Uy’skeem Sakabani? Which has a popular hit Sncandamathe Sam. Which is still under marketing and distribution and its already rolling on few radio stations,such as KCRSfm.

Career

King Dollar makes his income by making live performances and is still at school trying to complete his high school education. After completing matric, King Dollar is going to focus on making more and more music.
